Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory just declassified this incredible slow motion footage filmed at over 2,000 frames per second. It’s an explosion so large that it’s really hard to comprehend. You can put numbers to it and use math to estimate that the explosion in the video would completely flatten and vaporized anything on its path. Remember, this is super slow motion, if you were there, chances are all you would see is a quick flash, and you would be vaporized instantly. The little ‘lines’ you see at the very beginning of the blast on the right side of the screen are actually cables holding a tower that are being dissolved by the heat.
